This stuff is hard

Gender identity. Pronouns. Gender expression. Transitioning. All the things.

Understanding this stuff is hard. I get it.

But parents, you don’t have to understand everything to be supportive.

And you will probably never fully understand your transgender child’s journey, because it’s their journey, not yours.

Just keep on loving, supporting, and affirming them the best that you can.💜

If you need a little help, our online course Parents of Trans Youth 101 is always available for you. It's short and sweet, focusing on the heart part of parenting trans kids and young adults.

AND sometimes they need to be walked through the bigger picture, which might help with their decision about coming out to family. Does your kid want to be the...

The Trevor Project's 2025 U.S. National Survey on the Mental Health of LGBTQ+ Young People was released last week, and I always find helpful yet heartbreaking data in these annual findings. (Content warning: the survey addresses suicide risk and anti-LGBTQ+ victimization.) I'm always interested to see how support makes a positive difference in the mental health of queer youth.
