Vote for me 🗳️

I am THRILLED to be nominated for Ally Grand Marshal for the 48th annual Pride Houston Celebration on June 6! 🏳️‍🌈

As an ally, I’m unspeakably humbled by this recognition. It’s one of the highest honors given by Houston’s LGBTQ+ community, and I'm so grateful.

I count myself lucky that I get to work with and hang out with so many of Houston’s incredible LGBTQ+ individuals – it’s a privilege!

Winning this honor means that more folks would know about the work Parents of Trans Youth is doing: supporting parents and caregivers of transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive youth, so all trans kids can thrive.

The public voting period for Grand Marshall finalists runs through April 27.

Anyone, anywhere can vote once per day!

Please consider voting for me, and be sure to take a look at the incredible folks nominated in all categories.

Thank you!

I also threw together a last-minute gathering of friends; I told a handful of Austin folks that I'd be at an ice cream shop (Amy's - the best!) on Sunday night and I'd love to see them. Old and new friends showed up, and Reader, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! You know...

Support from parents and caregivers is crucial for the well-being of transgender and nonbinary youth, providing a solid foundation for their development and health (Trevor Project, 2024). Research by the Family Acceptance Project found that families who support their children's identities "help promote self-esteem, overall health, stronger relationships and help to protect against suicidal behavior, depression and substance abuse."
