Do something magical for parents of trans kids this week🪄

Transgender and nonbinary kids THRIVE when they are affirmed and supported by their parents.

And when parents and caregivers are supported in their own journeys through community and education, they become better parents. The transformations are magical!

But many parents have trouble finding a safe place for that connection and support.

Enter the Parents of Trans Youth Community (PTYC). It’s our all-in-one secure online membership community for parents and caregivers of transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive kids. Inside, 100+ members are learning to parent their children with confidence and celebration.

To make this unique resource as accessible as possible, we offer scholarships to any parent who indicates financial need.

That’s what the Share the Magic campaign is all about!

In the next 9 days, Parents of Trans Youth is raising $9,000 to fund scholarships for parents in our online membership community. Share the Magic will make sure that everyone who needs it has access to those magical transformations:

“I am so grateful for the scholarship from PTYC - it was really out of reach without it. I am so grateful for the community, resources, and information I find every time I log on. I used to feel so alone, and now I have a whole community from PTYC who gets it. Thank you so much!!” - C.S., New York (PTYC member)

Will yours be one of the first gifts in, Reader?

We’re already more than halfway to our goal with a generous $5,000 grant from the Threadneedle Alley Foundation!

We’ll be sharing updates through the end of the campaign on April 27, so you can see the difference your gift is making. You’ll get a couple more emails than usual in the next several days.

Thanks for believing in trans kids and their families and being with us right at the start.

WOW! As a mom, an advocate, and an ally, I’m incredibly honored and humbled to be named the Pride Houston 2026 Ally Grand Marshal! On June 6, I'll be at the front of the Pride parade with friends and supporters and the other Grand Marshals, doing my best parade wave! Thank you to Pride Houston 365, my fellow nominees, everyone who participated in the voting process, and Houston’s LGBTQ+ community, in particular the transgender community. You’ve graciously welcomed me into your spaces and...

Last week, I took a quick trip to Austin to see my kids and some friends, and my cup was full. I hadn't seen Mars and Indigo in a good while, and it was so fun to hear about their latest adventures and work dramas. I also threw together a last-minute gathering of friends; I told a handful of Austin folks that I'd be at an ice cream shop (Amy's - the best!) on Sunday night and I'd love to see them. Old and new friends showed up, and Reader, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! You know...

Support from parents and caregivers is crucial for the well-being of transgender and nonbinary youth, providing a solid foundation for their development and health (Trevor Project, 2024). Research by the Family Acceptance Project found that families who support their children's identities "help promote self-esteem, overall health, stronger relationships and help to protect against suicidal behavior, depression and substance abuse." This is why Parents of Trans Youth exists! We know that the...
