A Supreme honor 🏛️

This week, I had the honor of speaking at the Washington, D.C. rally held during oral arguments in two Supreme Court cases concerning trans youth in sports: West Virginia v. BPJ and Little v. Hecox.

These two cases represent two teenage girls from West Virginia and Idaho, who sued just to be allowed to continue playing sports like any other student.

Gorgeous weather, a passionate crowd, being with my family, and meeting so many of my heroes made Tuesday's event hosted by the ACLU and Lambda Legal spectacular.

The court is likely to issue a narrow ruling, allowing states to ban trans girls from girls' sport teams, but avoiding a decision on constitutional questions for now. Click here for an excellent summary by Law Dork.

You can check out my speech on Instagram or Facebook. The audio's pretty rough; the opposition held their own rally right next to ours, and everyone was speaking over each other all morning (hopefully my captions help!).

Let's keep the T in TEAM!

Yesterday finally marked 30 days since the surgery, and I celebrated by doing exciting things like bending over to tie my shoes, leaning over to put my breakfast dishes in the dishwasher, and reaching for office supplies on a high shelf. I...

Did you catch the President's State of the Union speech this week? Nah, I didn't either. I figured I'd catch the highlights later rather than subjecting myself to that man's voice for 107 minutes. As you can imagine, this "highlight" really chapped my hide: "No state can be allowed to rip children from their parents' arms and transition them to a new gender against the parents’ will. Who would believe that we’re even talking about this? We must ban it, and we must ban it immediately." Raise...
