Looking for support groups?

Reader, everyone needs support at one time or another, especially if you're parenting transgender kiddos.

Several organizations that I trust offer online support groups for parents and caregivers:

Campaign for Southern Equality (Trans Youth Emergency Project)

Hosted by mothasistah™ and YOURS TRULY, this is a monthly space for parents and caregivers of trans youth to gather in community, especially those who are navigating accessing gender-affirming care for their kids right now.

Next group is this Sunday, March 15, 6:30-8pm EDT.

Register here and you'll receive the Zoom link to join the support group meeting each month.

TransFamily Support Services

TFSS hosts So. Many. Groups.

Parent/caregiver groups include: Parents of teens/preteens; Parent Circle - trans littles; Parents of trans adults; Dual spectrum parent group; Grupo de Apoyo/Latine/X; Southern states family group.

Youth spaces include Discord group + online meetings: Middle school; High school; Young adults.

PFLAG National

PFLAG National’s current communities gather people of Latino, Black/African American, Asian American and Pacific Islander backgrounds—as well as military families, families with gender-diverse loved ones, and grandparents—to gain support, ask questions, and learn from others who have been through similar experiences.

Parents of Trans Youth Community (PTYC)

Didn't think I'd forget this one, did you? 😉

PTYC hosts 2 live support groups every month (one day and one evening), plus book club, movie nights, and guest speakers on specific topics. Members also get support through chat spaces accessible 24/7.

The trend is supposed to humanize brands and create a personal connection with their audiences. Looking back at these pictures made me think that I had NO idea I'd be doing what I am today, even as recently as a few years ago. I had no clue what being transgender meant when my first...

A few weeks ago, I had surgery for a back issue, and the recovery has been a bit rougher than I anticipated.
