It's Transanta time!

Transanta is a mutual aid social media campaign that connects Santas everywhere with trans youth in need. Through anonymous and safe gift-giving, trans and non-binary youth who are houseless, in foster care, or otherwise without vital support receive the gifts they want and the affirmation they need from people all over the world!

Transanta is a cute name, but it isn’t really about Christmas. It’s about the importance of being seen; it’s about trans joy and trans futures. It’s about deepening the connection that trans youth feel with their larger community and to their own lives.

Founded in 2020 by Indya Moore, Kyle Lasky, and Chase Strangio, Transanta was born of a desire to center trans care, joy, and giving at a time of escalating violence and attacks on the trans community.

TWO WAYS TO GIVE

  1. Buy gifts directly for trans youth from their gift registry links → see instructions below.
  2. Donate money to Transanta and support their work year-round → click here (donations are tax-deductible)

HOW DOES IT WORK?

  1. Trans youth send in their letters and gift registries to Transanta;
  2. Transanta posts the letters on Instagram and their website, linking them to the youths' corresponding gift registries;
  3. Santas all over the world use those registries to buy gifts, which are sent directly and safely to the recipients without any personal information being shared!

Anyone can be a Santa!

The trend is supposed to humanize brands and create a personal connection with their audiences. Looking back at these pictures made me think that I had NO idea I'd be doing what I am today, even as recently as a few years ago. I had no clue what being transgender meant when my first...

A few weeks ago, I had surgery for a back issue, and the recovery has been a bit rougher than I anticipated. In addition to feeling significant soreness and fatigue, I was not allowed to raise my arms above my shoulders or bend, lift, or twist for 30 days. I...
